How Long Does Implant Treatment Take?
Implant treatment is performed by a surgical operation. If it is a single implant operation to be performed, this procedure varies between 10 minutes and 30 minutes. The duration of implant treatment can vary from half an hour to a few hours, depending on the number of implants to be made and the patient’s jawbone. After the surgery, it is waited for 1-3 months for the implant and the bone to be embraced (osseointegration). After the implant ossifies, the prostheses to be placed on it are applied in a few sessions. As a result of implant treatment that lasts for 1-4 months in total, patients get the closest result to natural teeth and have long-lasting teeth.
2-) Jaw Bone Condition and Applicability;
At this stage, the patient’s general examination is made. By taking a panoramic x-ray, the condition of the jawbone and the bone density in the area to be implanted are measured. If the bone density is not suitable for the implant, bone graft is made and this area is expected to ossify. The dentist carefully chooses the implant to be used at this time.
3-) Implant making;
The duration of the implant is approximately 15-40 minutes. First, the bone is reached with the incision made in the gum. According to the implant size, the jawbone is drilled and the implant is screwed. In order for the master structures to be made, the implant must be welded to the jawbone. This period varies between 1-3 months.
4-) Preparation of prostheses;
After the implant is integrated with the jawbone, it is time to prepare the prostheses. After the measurement and color targeting taken from the mouth, the prostheses are prepared by the technician in porcelain laboratories in an aesthetic way and in accordance with your real teeth. After the trials in the patient’s mouth, it is given its final shape.
5-) Construction of Superstructures and Happy Ending
At the last stage, the prostheses are placed on the implant by screwing or gluing. After the dentist warns the patient, the procedure is completed.
